Anna Almaraz is a first-generation Hispanic student at UTSA. She graduated with a B.B.A in Marketing and is currently working towards her M.B.A. in entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership, and management. Anna was the first woman at UTSA to be inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame for her two businesses. At 15 years old, Anna established her first business, Social Sophie Marketing LLC. She’s partnered with 25+ clients generating over $690,000 in gross sales since 2020. With the true heart of an entrepreneur, Anna founded a second business amid COVID-19, Sophie’s Sweets Cookie Co. This started Anna’s philanthropic journey and bridged her career and entrepreneurship aspirations. With over 100 holiday orders and the heart of an aspiring philanthropist, Anna baked over 10,000 cookies to give away to families in need. Through her experiences, she realized that her passion and true calling was serving her community. Anna is determined to make it her career and life’s purpose. While owning and running her business, Anna serves as the Venture Analyst at the UTSA Najim Center, the Project Associate at The Harvey Najim Charitable Foundation, and the marketing coordinator at the San Antonio Children’s Shelter. Anna is an aspiring philanthropist and consistently discovers ways to make meaningful contributions to her community.
